You would not believe the box of product that Crate Paper sent me – beyond generous!
So, being the very minimalist scrapbooker that I am, I didn't use even half of it - I still have an entire full collection left!
So here's where it gets fun. . . would you like to win it??
Just leave me a comment telling me what you'd like to see me teach – could be simple scrapbooking, photo editing, photography, an actual photo walk, online or in person, you name it!
I get lots of emails about teaching, so I thought I'd reach out to you guys and get your opinions.
I'll leave the giveaway open until Thursday! Good luck, this is some fun product!
As always, thanks for stopping by (I know posts have been scarce!).
PS although I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on the classes, I can only ship the box to a Canadian reader, just too much $$ to ship this big box outside of the country – sorry internationals – thanks for your understanding J

A very happy FIFTH birthday to Scrapbook and Cards Today!!! It's no easy feat to continually put out an on-trend, visually pleasing and informative publication that always has its finger on the pulse of the industry!!
Catherine and Becky do a tremendous job, issue after issue!
I would be remiss if I didn't give a shout out to Kerry McCrorie who was instrumental in helping Catherine build and shape the magazine from the very beginning. She initially reached out and took a chance on me, and the rest, as they say, is history!
I love contributing to this magazine! It always has such a sense of 'fresh' about it. The colours, the fonts, the paper, the layouts that are featured - it all speaks to me! Catherine and Becky are fun and positive to work with and always so supportive when I throw a new idea their way!
SCT is celebrating by doing some really fun stuff on the blog, of course! Have you seen what they're giving away!?! Here's a hint: it starts with an 'iPod' and ends with a 'touch' :)
Today, welcome to the Blog Hop!! If you've followed me here from Lisa's blog, hello!
The next stop on the hop is Emily's blog! Have fun and don't forget to check back on the SCT Blog for a birthday celebration that's going to last all week long!
And here's something really fun:
Want to win your very own copy of Cardmaps??
Leave a comment right here and I will draw one lucky winner on Friday - good luck!
Again, happy birthday Scrapbook and Cards Today! Have a great week, everyone!
Thank you so much for sharing your winter photos with me, I enjoyed getting each and every one of them! It's always fun to know who is reading the old blog.
Glad to know at least some of you are getting outside with your cameras -it's too long of a winter if you don't - in my opninion :)
Alright, let's get to sharing those wonderful photos!
From Teresa (the first one to come in and always quick to leave a comment, which is always so appreciated!)
From my sweet friend, Heather, who is a brilliant photographer, wonderful mommy and overall rock star as far as human beings go:
This one came in from Carla, over on my side of the world in beautiful Newfoundland:
These were sent in by Lorelle, another very loyal blog reader and commenter (and I think other bloggers will agree, comments rock!).
How cute is that pom pom hat and those little flared jeans??
This one came in from Susan, right here in Moncton! Really interesting picture, with her beautiful husky back there in the shallow depth of field:
This one came in from Leanne in Toronto (love the caption, Leanne!) and it made me smile instantly - I remember watching little legs truck up big hills over and over again, for the simple thrill of sliding back down again:
This one came in from Stephanie in Illinois - what a crazy storm they had! My brother lives in Chicago so I always follow the weather there (has nothing to do with being obsessed with the weather either!!) :
These are from Heather, a young blog reader who probably has the cutest pet I've ever seen in Bugsy - don't you love her winter coat??
So thank you, again, for taking the time to read this blog and email me your photos! All that snow makes me feel like I'm in good company (110 cms since Jan 1. . . )
Alright!! The winner (by random selection) of the miniature DSLR is . . . . .
Leanne please email me with your mailing address, and Teresa email me with yours too since you were the first to enter the contest!
Any exciting weekend plans? I hope to make some headway on the bedroom re-do.
With Emma away at Uni and Rebecca giving me the death stare anytime I point my camera her way, it was wonderful to have subjects to photograph who actually wanted their photos done!
These two are both stellar hockey players, so the fact that I made them asked them to run through the pristine, freshly fallen snow a couple of dozen times wasn't a big deal; they were as delightful the first time as they were the 17th 3rd!
To me, this was a great time to practice exposing snow correctly. It was midday and it was blindingly bright. I obsess over making my photos as sharp as can be, and I knew to expose the white and the red and the skin tones properly, I'd have to be paying attention.
What all that reflective light did allow for was really high shutter speeds so that was just wonderful.
Aren't they cute??
Snow can be challenging to shoot, sometimes ending up greyish or bluish. I offered up a few tips in the Winter issue SCT - did you read it?
I'd like to offer a really fun giveaway!
All you have to do is share a snow pic you've shot recently with me (email is in the top left corner), I'll post them on my blog and draw a random winner next week! To be fair, I know some of you are in areas without snow, so any 'winter' pic will do!
Here's what you're playing for:
How cute is that?? It's a miniature DSLR model set! I have one and it made me so happy I gave one to a very good friend for Christmas! And now you can win one!
